The show took the role of the lifeguard and completely transformed it, adding adventure, excitement and sex appeal to an occupation that seemed an unlikely basis for a TV show. David Hasselhoff filled the lead role of Lt. Mitch Bucannon and while a bevy of curvaceous beauties stood by his side.
