After spending years studying music, Leslie Sanazaro began releasing music in 2006 and has since put out three albums. The first, 'Stars in the Attic' is slightly jazzy in content, the next 'On Your Roof', a more polished, produced sounding pop album, came out in 2009. She most recently released 'First We Cry, Then We Laugh', a collection of songs bringing attention to gender inequality by spotlighting and raising funds for sex trafficking survivors in Cambodia. All three of the albums are notably different with a strongly evolving vocal sound. With a jazz background, Leslie's vocal sound occasionally shows off this influence in it's attention to inflection and phrasing, but in recent years reflects more of playful sound. Though she plays piano or organ of her recorded songs, the bands and producers she plays with add other influences, from washy, electronic sounds, to warmly supported ballads and tongue in cheek pop tunes.
